What is Measurement?
Measurement helps us understand how big, small, heavy, or full things are!
We can measure length (how long), height (how tall), weight (how heavy), and capacity (how much fits inside).
How We Measure Things
1️⃣ We use tools like rulers and measuring tapes
2️⃣ We compare objects to see which is bigger or smaller
3️⃣ We count how many cups or containers something fills
Fun Measurement Examples
Example 1: The Tall Tower Challenge

Sarah built a tower with 5 blocks. Jamie built one with 8 blocks. Whose tower is taller?
Great thinking! Jamie's tower is taller because it has more blocks (8 > 5).
Example 2: The Fruit Basket

Which is heavier: 3 apples or 5 grapes? Let's think about size!
You're right! 3 apples are heavier because each apple is much bigger than a grape.
Parent Tips 🌟
- Kitchen measurements: Let your child help measure ingredients while cooking - great for learning cups and spoons!
- Growth chart: Track your child's height monthly with a fun chart on the wall.
- Compare toys: Ask which stuffed animal is taller or which toy car is longer during playtime.
